Betkuchi HS became the champion of the Guwahati leg of the Airtel Rising Star Football tournament. They defeated the Sankar Madhav School of Mirza 3-0. The tournament was organised by Airtel with help of Assam Football Association and Guwahati Sports Association. Airtel organised this tournament to scout footballing talents and give them exposure. Airtel will organise training sessions at Manchester United. From the Guwahati leg, three players were selected for the national camp at Goa and one goalkeeper was selected for the camp to be held at Mumbai....

The AIFF developmental squad has been better than what the current league table indicates. Luis Norton de Matos’ team have 15 points from 16 games but to their relief, they have immunity from relegation as per league rules. Aizawl, the surprise champions of last year are currently seventh in the table with 18 points from 15 games but more importantly have gone winless in their last eight games in which they have managed only five points....

The Kimberly-Clark deal is for 10 races a year through 2017. Clorox had announced an extension seven weeks ago. The Qatari side received an offer from the French side to acquire the services of the 22 year old Congolese striker in the current winter window. The French club’s offer came after the formidable form Mubele has been through recently, leading his country to the quarterfinals of African Cup of Nations with two goals before being eliminated by Ghana. Mubele was a prolific goal scorer for Al Ahli in Qatari football and the French offer wasn’t the first he’d received but it was the best for Al Ahli....

Capone’s favorite gun, a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, sold for $860,000. Other auctioned items included diamond jewelry, family photos and a bear-shaped humidor. Police held Givara Budeiri for four hours before she was released and sent to a hospital with a broken hand. Her boss blamed police mistreatment for the broken hand, but it was unclear when or how her hand was broken. On Sunday, police arrested twins Muna and Muhammad al-Kurd, who led a demonstration against attempts to evict Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
